Every car tells a story β and this one was a real page-turner.
A 2014 Ford Focus rolled into our workshop with a puzzling issue: the car shut off every time the AC button was pressed. Not exactly what you expect when trying to cool down on a hot day.
The Symptoms
At first, it seemed like an electrical ghost. Diagnostics revealed that the ECU was cutting fuel, but the ECU itself checked out fine. So what was really happening?
The Investigation
We went deeper β testing circuits, checking grounds, and tracing every wire. Eventually, the answer revealed itself inside the fuse box:
π A tiny strand of wire was shorting two terminals together.
Each time the AC turned on, the short would kill the fuel pump, shutting the engine off instantly.
The Solution
Once we removed that sneaky wire and repaired the affected terminals, the Ford roared back to life β AC on and all systems normal.
Sometimes, itβs not the big problems that stop a car in its tracks β itβs the smallest connections that make the biggest difference.
Precision. Detail. Results.
At Alberts Auto Electrical, we donβt just fix cars β we solve mysteries. Because every connection counts.
